Why Give

By donating to SHN, you’re supporting equitable access to care for one of Canada’s most diverse communities, where 59% are new Canadians and 74% are visible minorities.Scarborough hospitals serve 850,000+ patients each year with aging infrastructure and limited funding.

Your gift ensures that SHN can expand emergency and cardiac care, purchase life-saving equipment, and provide world-class treatment to every patient who walks through our doors.

A Life Saved: Hugo Pereira’s Story

On January 2, 2025, Hugo Pereira, 54, suffered a massive heart attack, blocking a major artery. SHN’s emergency and cardiac teams worked relentlessly for 43 minutes to save his life. “Not everyone gets a second chance, soI am going to live mine to the fullest.
