Major Gifts
At SHN, we’ve done more than anyone thought possible with less than anyone could imagine. But now, we’re building it forward—with you.
Major gifts are powerful investments in the future of healthcare for one of Canada’s most diverse, fastest-growing communities. Your support drives innovation, equity, and excellence across our three hospitals.
Together, we can transform aging facilities, reduce wait times, and deliver world-class care—right here in Scarborough.
When you make a major gift to SHN Foundation, you have the opportunity to direct your contribution toward hospital priorities and programs that align with your personal values.
Our philanthropy team will work closely with you to identify meaningful giving opportunities and to structure your gift in a way that fits your plans, including flexible timing options.
To show our appreciation, we provide personalized recognition for your generosity and celebrate your philanthropy in a way that is meaningful to you.
Transformational Impact:
Northpine Foundation’s Historic Gift

Northpine Foundation’s $20 million gift is a historic investment in health equity for Scarborough. This transformative donation is fueling three major initiatives at SHN that are already reshaping care across our hospitals.
- AcceleratED Care, a new emergency department model, is significantly reducing wait times and improving the patient experience.
- The Northpine Diagnostic Imaging Department opened in Feb. 2025 is delivering faster, more efficient, and patient-centered diagnostics.
- The Centre for Surgical Quality Excellence is using real-time data to enhance surgical outcomes across all three SHN hospitals.
“We were inspired to support SHN because of the gap in healthcare donations to Scarborough, whose diverse population is 59% New Canadians. We know that there are great learning opportunities in Scarborough that can help improve the health of others across Ontario, Canada, and globally”
Every gift starts with a conversation.
