Support Cardiac Care at SHN

Heart disease is the leading cause of death in Ontario and it’s rising fast. SHN's Centenary Hospital is home to the designated Cardiac Centre for the Scarborough–Durham region, treating over 40,000 cardiac patients each year and operating Ontario’s second-largest STEMI program for heart attack response.

But our cardiac care spaces are outdated, overcrowded, and no longer fit for purpose placing vulnerable patients and care teams at risk.

With your support, we can expand and build modern, state-of-the-art spaces that meets the complex and growing needs of critical cardiac care.

Imagine what we could do with more.

Our care teams overcome incredible obstacles every day. But they need the right spaces and tools to match their expertise, and your support can make that possible.

Redeveloping Cardiac Care Spaces

Our current catheterization and electrophysiology (EP) labs are outdated and struggling to keep up with demand.

With donor support, we can:

  • Expand capacity for high-volume cardiac procedures
  • Improve access to EP care for heart rhythm disorders
  • Reduce delays for urgent and complex cases
  • Provide modern spaces that match the expertise of our teams
  • Build new Cardiac Cath Labs
