Rajeef Koneswaran, the owner of RE/MAX Community Realty Inc. in Scarborough, has always had deep roots in the community. Growing up, he and his parents relied on SHN’s Centenary and General hospitals whenever they needed care.
“My entire life I’ve lived in Scarborough,” Rajeef tells us. “My two kids were born here; my business is here – it really is home. The care my family has received at SHN has always been exceptional, and I wanted to give back during these extremely challenging times.”
When the pandemic hit, Rajeef saw the tireless efforts of SHN’s frontline staff working to fight COVID-19. He knew that he could help to ensure they had the tools and equipment necessary to keep our Scarborough community safe. So, to give back to those who looked after him and his family for so long, he made an incredible donation of $25,000 to SHN Foundation.
“I thought to myself, ‘this money would be put to better use in the hands of a hospital saving lives.’ I believe the money we make should flow back into the community to help others, and that’s exactly what SHN does,” Rajeef continues.
Rajeef has been a loyal supporter of SHN Foundation for many years, taking part in Brave T.O. since its’ inception in 2016. It is support from people like Rajeef who inspire us to continue advocating and fundraising for our Scarborough hospitals. We are incredibly grateful to Rajeef for his thoughtful gift and continued support of our frontline workers as they courageously battle the third wave of COVID-19.
