On Sunday, February 14, 2021, Scarborough Health Network (SHN) Foundation welcomed the community online for the Love Songs for Loved Ones event, a virtual Valentine’s Day Concert in support of our local Scarborough hospitals and the courageous frontline health care workers. The virtual concert raised over $150,000 to fund the highest priority needs across Scarborough Health Network’s Birchmount, Centenary and General hospitals.
“We are tremendously grateful to our generous donors and sponsors, and all of our supporters who tuned in on Sunday evening,” said Alicia Vandermeer, President and CEO of SHN Foundation. “Your support is critical as we continue our fight against the COVID-19 pandemic, which has disproportionately impacted the people of Scarborough and has seen SHN tackling among Ontario’s highest case volumes.”
Hosted virtually from Toronto’s Aga Khan Museum, more than 200 audience members tuned in to hear beautiful love songs performed by more than 25 amateur and professional musicians. Proceeds from the event will help equip Scarborough’s frontline workers with the critical tools and resources needed to continue serving our Scarborough community with exceptional care.
